125th anniversary competition – Terms & conditions

Overview

Our 125th Anniversary Competition is a light hearted affair, which is open to all persons who are members of a WPF affiliated club. The winner will receive £100, second £50 and third £25. In addition to this, our sponsors Prolab (Davies Colour) and Cardiff Framing Company, Llanishen have offered to print and frame the winning three images, which will be donated to the originators.

Judging

Judging will be done by all members of Cardiff Camera Club (CCC). We seek a popular vote. They will be voted upon anonymously. See below for more information.

Theme

The theme of the competition is ‘My Wales’.

It is within the spirit of the competition that images will be favoured if they are perceived to be of recent origin; that is to say within the last three years.
No image should have been accepted in WPF competitions or any Salons. We recognise we are relying upon goodwill in this respect and no action will be taken against the entrant post judging.

Date of Competition

Images will be accepted during the period 1st June to Midnight 23rd July 2021. An image received outside these dates will not be entered into the competition.

Technical Stuff

There is no entry fee.

You must be a member of a WPF affiliated club.

You may enter one image in digital file format. We do not accept prints.
The file shall be a JPEG of maximum size 1600px horizontal axis and 1200px vertical axis. The colour space should be sRGB

Entrants shall send their image to competition@cardiffcameraclub.co.uk. The email shall contain the Photographer’s name, Image title and Name of Club. Each photographer must send their own image; we do not accept collections from clubs. Entrants will receive a receipt via email.

Copyright remains with the photographer. There must be no watermarks or text added by the photographer.

Entries will be placed on our website with all identification removed, and open for the public to view as soon as is practicable after receipt by following this link < https://cardiffcameraclub.co.uk/125th-anniversary-competition/entries >

The winning and shortlisted entries may be projected digitally or as prints as promotional material at our club’s next public exhibition in Llandough Hospital, in 2021. The images may remain on the website for public viewing for up to one year, and thereafter will be deleted. All data collected in association with this competition will be deleted upon completion of the competition. No data will be shared with third parties.

No member of CCC may enter. Members who have lapsed more than two years ago may enter.

Final judging of images will take place on 12 August 2021. A committee will shortlist 50 favoured images and these will be put to the whole membership of CCC, who will decide upon the winning three. The winners will be advised as soon as possible. All entries will then be fully credited on the Cardiff Camera Club website.

The three winners will be invited to send larger files that may be printed up to approximately 12”x10” and framed by our sponsors, Davies Colour (Prolab) and Cardiff Framing Company, Llanishen. These may be displayed, fully credited, at our public 2021 Exhibition, and donated freely to the entrants as soon as is practicable afterwards.
