Last Thursday (16th June 2022) we had the pleasure of hosting our inaugural battle with Gwent Photographic Society. We had a fun evening presided over by judge Peter Young LRPS CPAGB AFIAP HonPAGB. It was a great turn out from both clubs in a friendly atmosphere – we were soon discussing the competition photographs and sharing our photography stories. The evening was split into 2 halves separated by snacks at half time. Prints shown in the first half were followed by the projected photographs in the second.
The actual competition didn’t go well for us and Gwent were convincing winners – well done Gwent. Despite this some of our photographers had some individual success. Andre Van de Sande (Grey heron) and Trevor Waller (A bit close) were award a commendation and Tim Stephens (One tired old dog) was award 3rd place in the digital section – well done all.
At least our Bara brith drew some admiring comments from the visitors. Roll-on the return competition next year.
