| Thurs 2nd May 2024 | GLYN FREEMAN. | The National Parks of North America. Glyn has visited America many times and loves to photograph the many site in USA and Canada. His photos cover such places as The Rockies, Yellowstone, Smoky Mountains, Arches and so on. It promises to be a feast. |
| Thurs 9th May 2024 | PRACTICAL EVENING. | Our own Dean Pine asks us to bring in Camera and any portable lights you care to bring with you for an evening…”a natural macro evening with such things as leaves, mosses,lichens,bark,and flower heads, etc.” says Dean. Oh also maybe bring a small mirror, reflector and tissue or greaseproof to act as a diffuser on your main light??? Have fun! Oh if you don’t have a close focus lens, try Phone camera or check out some excellent macro filters – [Raynox is very good] |

| Thurs 6th June 2024 | Bill Ward | Bill is a famous actor, probably best known for playing the badly behaved builder Charlie Stubbs in TV’s Coronation Street; and James Barton in Emmerdale. He has a great number of awards for his acting in Theatre too. However, we are interested in Photography: Bill was a Judge for UK Landscape Photographer of the Year in 2022,23. Adobe UK Landscape Photographer of the Year …best seascape 2020 Several awards on other categories and Exhibitions in prestigious galleries. Bill is also experimental – showing his ICM and multi-exposure shots too. He also writes and runs workshops and gives presentations…brilliantly in my experience! This is one of those ‘bring your best pal’ events. Not to be missed. |

| Thu 17th Oct 2024 | ANDY KENDALL | ANDY KENDALL, of Cardiff Naturalists has digitised some glass plate photos taken by the brilliant “COL. MORREY SALMON who must now be regarded as the father of British bird photography” (Eric Hosking OBE. Bird photographer). “He was a legendary figure from way back in the early days of conservation in this country” (Sir Peter Scott CH, CBE, DSC & Bar, FRS, FZS, Founder of the WWT and WWF).“He – by quite extraordinary efforts well outside what might be regarded as a norm – made a major contribution to RAF operations in North Africa, the Mediterranean and the Balkans. His dedication and professional competence set a standard which has been reflected in RAF Regiment operations ever since” (Air Vice-Marshall Donald Pocock). “I especially valued the leadership he was able to give in Wales in regard to ornithology and conservation” (Max Nicholson, President RSPB). What’s more Cardiff Naturalist’s photo wing was linked to Cardiff Camera Club in the first decades of the 20th century. Bring your friends and family! |
