Last Thursday (4th November 2021) saw the 2021/22 Photographer of the year league competition commence. This season we are hoping to see a return of both print and digital media with some set subjects. This first round was however an open digital contest. Our Judge for the evening was Gary Shinner LRPS, EFIAP/b, MPSA2, AWPF, BPSA, GAPU who managed to both entertain and inform – thanks Gary. The top three places were divided between 5 photographs with both second and third places being shared – a tight contest.
1st – “Moon rising” by Trevor Waller
2nd – “Goldfinch” by Niall & “A bit close” by Trevor Waller
3rd – “Double Act” by Chris Chinnick & “The Acrobat” by Andre Van de Sande
In addition Chris Chinnick’s “Double Act” received a HIGHLY COMMENDED award plus Dave Barton’s “Captive” and Richard Payton’s “Explosive cloud over early morning refinery” were also COMMENDED.
